PRINCESS.......

Tick Tock.. Tick Tock... the clock's hand is slowly counting the time, excitement is slowly rising , pressure is slowly sinking in, fashionistas getting ready to light the town, paparazzi all set with their cameras  to get the front page news.. and the whole world will also be infront of their telly.. to be part of the WEDDING OF THE CENTURY... ohh... such a fairytale...

It is in every young girl's dream to be a princess or walk down the aisle..so this is something of both.... In  one way or another , little girls  dressed up as princesses and glided across the room wearing their crowns or dreaming to be wearing a long beautiful gown.. so  I understand what draws us to be part of this Royal Entourage.. We want to see the dresses, the guests, the fashion , the funfare, Grandma .. i mean the Queen... We want to be part of all this.... How we wish we were the bride.. not because of marrying  the Prince but because of the thought of becoming a princess.. even for that single moment.. until the moment when the credits roll up... leaving us sighing and in awe of all those who were part of this glorious event.. how i wish..

But do i really wish to be a princess.... How would I   be able to celebrate with so much extravaganza, mouth dropping expenses on the cakes, food, clothes,.... It so scary to think that I  could  spend so lavishly with all the calamity that is happening in the world... With these expenses, I  would be able to feed a country.... heal the sick, give education., I  would be able to feed hundreds of  young children... so sad to think how  all these expenses could be put to good use  for a country in dire need instead of a ONE DAY CELEBRATION ..... it JUST  has to be .... PERFECT FOR THE WORLD TO SEE... of course what bride would not want a fairytale wedding FREE OF CHARGE.. to top it off .  who can I say is really there to be part of this glorious moment of my life.. who is there to be with me and my husband to be when we exchange our vows...who are the people who truly want to be there and not just an obligaton to be there... so sad to think that all this effort are being painstakingly done not for us but for somebody else.. come to think of it.. it is not even our wedding anymore.. it is just like an event of the year that people wanted to attend... at least on those big events it is usually for a cause ... and not just to spend millions of dollars equivalent .. romantic sigh.. As a Princess, i have to put on a brave front and not be affected with the talks behind my back, have to put on a smile on my face , and stand beside my prince, glowing and beaming like how a princess should be..... I am not me anymore, all my decisions and actions, will be based on what will be good for the throne.. i am now giving up my voice.... for love.... Would i still want to be a Princess.. .. oh yeah definitely, my Prince can have his voice heard in the entire kingdom.. But at our home... I AM HIS QUEEN and HE WILL LISTEN TO ME... In his heart.. I RULE.. heheheheh....

Princess or not.... I still wish them the best.. ..all those who are walking down the aisle... that your life together be spent with love , respect and trust.. Communicate with each other, laugh with each other , cry together, have time to pray together.. Believe in each other ..but also have time for yourself .. because even though you are now one.. you are still two separate individuals.. And to be able to complete each other you have to be complete yourself... Marriage is a career that needs to be worked on everyday... Put some fun and excitement into it.. and when the going gets tough.. TAKE A DEEP BREATH and remember why your heart skipped a beat when you realized that this is the person you will love for the rest of your life...

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL OF YOU!

Somebody cares,

ATE

  1. Well said, Ate. Celebration of love in its many forms makes people come together. That's why we love it. We should hold on to that feeling of love in our hearts, especially in these hard times.
